Mamiya NC 1000
The Mamiya NC 1000 ...
Mamiya NC 1000S Mamiya NC 1000S
... and the NC 1000S.

In February 2002 Roland Stauber launched an extensive site about his favorite camera. With comments about each lens and (forthcoming) downloads of several documents.
With his support I made this Online Instruction Manual, which contains a list of lenses and accessories.

The difference between the two models: the NC 1000S has a memo-pocket for a piece of the film box on its back, the NC 1000 hasn't. I formerly maintained, the viewfinder screens of the NC 1000 aren't interchangeable; but a helpful NC 1000 owner pointed out, that it isn't correct. I think, a memo-pocket is a bit weak for an extra "S" - does anybody know another difference?

R. Stauber also found out, that the construction of the shutter has changed during the production of the NC 1000S. The speeds of the new shutter have a greater stability. You can't see which shutter is built in from the outside, but he presumes there is a clue in the production number: the number always begins with a "K", the following numeral should be "1" for the old shutter and "2" for the new one.
A zoom 3.8/80-200, not mentioned in the list yet, sought-after and recommendable. Mamiya also built a super rare 3.5/45-90, which has rather the status of a prototype - I presume it is the first zoom in the midrange: it contains a plastic component, which deforms itself by and by and makes the lens unusable. In fact every 3.5/45-90 CS for the NC 1000 should have this flaw, so unfortunately I have to advice against it.
An amazing accessory: the M42-adapter to the NC 1000(S). If you take a closer look, you will see, that the inner black ring which fits the aperture pin is moveable. This adapter allows open aperture viewing! Exposure metering is possible in stop-down-mode.
